I have no opinions of Randy one way or another.
I've never met him, and can't comment. But... he is not GBX. He is one small piece... yes, that piece may be the public face of the company... but he's not the guy developing the games, or making the big decisions.
Being the President of the studio doesn't give him as much power as people may think it does.
He was against the cartoon art style they did for Borderlands when they switched over to it, yet it's one of the series biggest, most defining aspects.
His opinion was shot down there.
In regards to Duke, Hank is right. Without Randy we wouldn't have Duke.
Yeah, Triptych kept working after the 3DR closure, but, they wouldn't have been able to release anything. Because of the lawsuit between 3DR and Take Two.
Randy stepped in and put his company on the line to try and settle the lawsuit and bring 3DR's game to the public. And has since tried to endorse Duke as much as possible.
Openly stating had it been his game, he would've done a lot of things different in DNF... but it wasn't his game. It was 3DR.
Them bringing DN3D back out is a great move.
It brings the character back, in one of his best outings, to the public. With new content by some of the original guys.
It's a great way to gear the gaming world back up for Duke.
