Confusion about catacombs abyss

#1

Are all versions shareware? I recall seeing an opening screen of this game that says registered version?

I guess it’s the same as with Keen Dreams: a shareware version and a registered version that consists of the same levels.

Is it the same with dangerous dave I, the first one with 10 levels, the shareware released and the official makes no difference in terms of content?

Are there different versions of Dangerous Dave?

Hi it would be the very first one released in 1990 on the dos, 1988 on the Mac, that consists of 10 stages.

Did that only have 10 stages and were the registered and shareware versions the same ?

There’s a registered version of that game?

Ok so all versions are shareware? I recently purchased a software labs disk saying dangerous dave from some old store.

No.
There are Shareware and Full Registered Version releases.

Well so far I have the software labs " catacomb abyss" which I guess is the first episode which is considered shareware.

Then the second episode is a boxed froggman offical retail release “curse of the catacombs”

The third episode would be " terror of the catacombs" final retail release

So I guess that completes the trilogy of that set right?

Excluding:

Catacombs 3 or 3-d which is the first 3-d first person shooter game
Catacomb 1 and 2 are the early versions, seperate games.

Correct?

Not really. You’re mixing first releases with re-releases.

It was:

Catacomb
Catacomb II

Catacomb 3-D

Catacomb Abyss
Catacomb Armageddon (re-release: Curse of the Catacombs)
Catacomb Apocalypse (re-release: Terror of the Catacombs)
(the three first releases of that last set are the Catacomb Adventure Series)

PS. Hovertank was the first FPS

I have them covered with the exception of Catacomb, Catacomb II, Catacomb 3-d.

If I have the shareware version of Catacomb Abyss and the full re-released version of 2 other games that come after I am missing anything from the full version of Catacomb Abyss?

Having this:
Catacomb Abyss
Catacomb Armageddon
Catacomb Apocalypse

…is more-or-less the same than having this:
Catacomb Abyss
Curse of the Catacombs
Terror of the Catacombs

Were there left out episodes compared to the armageddon and apocalyse original versions?

Catacomb Abyss --> SHAREWARE
Catacomb Armageddon --> Part of the FULL REGISTERED
Catacomb Apocalypse --> Part of the FULL REGISTERED

Curse of the Catacombs --> RETAIL of Armageddon
Terror of the Catacombs --> RETAIL of Apocalypse

So as I mentioned in the original post the ONLY catacomb games I don’t have:

Catacombs 3-d
Catacombs 1 and 2

Since Catacombs Abyss shareware, Curse and Terror ( both are full boxed released) cover Armageddon and Apocalypse.

Wow you literally repeated the same thing:joy::clap:

Wonder if catacomb 1 and 2 was ever released outside of the gamer’s edge disks.
